This site is a digital complement to the physical exhibition, “Who shall tell the story?”: Voices of Civil War Virginia displayed at the University of Virginia Library’s Main Gallery at the Mary and David Harrison Institute for American History, Literature, and Culture from October 2014 through summer 2015. The exhibition was curated by Gayle Cooper, Edward Gaynor, Petrina Jackson, Ervin Jordan, and Molly Schwartzburg, Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library, University of Virginia. The site is housed at the University of Virginia.

The site contains images of books, broadsides, printed materials, manuscripts, photographs, and more. The site has been created to enable public access to these materials in support of teaching, research, and scholarship. Educational institutions or affiliated individuals, school teachers, news organizations, and members of the public are all welcome to link to individual images or other content posted on the site and to download selected material for the above-authorized purposes.
