Fume Extractor

Moveable fume extractors, the blue “elephant trunk” hanging from the ceiling in this picture, suck in chemical vapors and particles produced during conservation treatments. Conservators use many different chemicals for applications such as cleaning, deacidification, bleaching, and stain removal. Labs usually have several different work stations, so an extractor arm that can be repositioned is useful.
