General

This site is a digital complement to the physical exhibition, Tibetan Book of the Dead, displayed at the University of Virginia Library’s Special Collections department in Alderman Library from November 1997 through March 1998. The exhibition was curated by Bryan J. Cuevas. The site is housed at the University of Virginia.
 The site contains images of original books, printed material, artwork, and religious objects. The site has been created to enable public access to these materials in support of teaching, research, and scholarship. Educational institutions or affiliated individuals, school teachers, news organizations, and members of the public are all welcome to link to individual images or other content posted on the site and to download selected material for the above-authorized purposes.
