Awls

Practitioners use awls to poke holes in paper, boards, cloth, leather, and other materials, usually when prepping those materials for sewing. Different shafts, handles, and tips produce a range of puncture sizes. It’s much easier to make holes in papers and boards with an awl than with a needle.
